This is a blog dedicated to sharing information with parents, school administrators, teachers and community members about the Good News Club, a product of Child Evangelism Fellowship.
To many parents around the United States, the Good News Club is bad news.
To them, the organization's strategic mission of proselytizing to children in after school programs on school property represents a serious affront to many people's closely-held beliefs about the separation of church and state, particularly in public schools. The Child Evangelism Fellowship invokes a 2001 Supreme Court ruling to press for its expansion into the after school programs of America's public schools.
This blog is intended to help parents and others as we try to understand the intentions of the Good News Club, evaluate the legal protections its organization invokes and protect our country's children from proselytizing and potential religious bullying.
